Unrecognized Anger: The Story Behind Kick Fights to Lose is the DIY zine accompanying Kick Fights to Lose, the third studio album by The Burgers.

The zine includes the stories behind eight songs from the album. Beyond Zac Burger’s personal experiences, it also features a special chapter consisting of seven poems that deconstruct, through Zac’s observations, the DIY/punk scene and the underlying power dynamics behind its upheld “community spirit.”

Zac Burger describes this zine as a creation that transcends existing language systems.
In completing it, he realized:
If the language you’ve been given can’t express your thoughts, then you have to invent your own — a new language.
