The goth subculture is often seen as an inclusive space. As an East Asian of Hong Kong Chinese heritage living in the UK, I often experience otherwise in person and online.
This zine records some of the problematic quotes I’ve come across because of my East Asian heritage and lived experience in the North West of England. I also elaborate the context behind the dialogue, and my thoughts around them.
50% of proceeds generated from selling this zine will be donated to Sesame Organisation, a UK-based anti-racist charity employing intersectional approaches to promote racial harmony and empower East and Southeast Asians (ESEA) in the UK.
