THE QUESTION OF TERRORISM by Sylphia Basak
A5, 16 pages, Black & white printing, Saddle stitched, Softcover, 2024
‘The paradigm has now shifted. The “Other” no longer accepts that label’.
An ongoing onslaught on the Palestinian people has finally drawn the attention of the world as the death toll rises in front of our eyes. This arresting essay reassesses the role of the West and the binaries that have been presented to us as obsolete. Whilst interrogating who society at large call terrorists since the events of October 7th, Sylphia draws from the personal and contextualizes the actuality of the narrative shift as we bare witness to the horrors of genocide through our phone screens, whilst realising the failures of Western world structures.
