The Onion Cellar expands on a chapter in Gunter Grass’ novel ‘The Tin Drum’. It relates to themes of war, emotional detachment, and commodification. I chose not to document the direct performance. It was important to me that people weren’t self conscious, as the night involved opening up and weeping with a room full of other people.
