TBHQ is the noise-jazz-pop solo project of Hazel Rigby, native New Yorker and LA transplant (formerly of SAZA and Outside World), whose musical career has snaked through post-punk, art rock, free improvisation, and new age sound collage.

On TBHQ's first full length, Rigsby's earnest and sardonic voice presides over 8 unique pop compositions. Cosmic synth scrawl, disorienting voyeuristic field recordings, mechanical rhythms, and fretless bass shredding link with plainspoken lyrics that illustrate the human condition in the algorithmic age. At times a critical observer and also a melancholy subject. These are tunes that that threaten to break free of the earth’s heavy gravitational pull.
