STRIPBURGER #81
A4, 120 pages, Colour printing, Saddle stitched, Softcover, 2023
Life only begins at the age of 30, we are taught by commercials, marketing gurus and open calls for young artists, which is why Stripburger, even after its 30th birthday, which we celebrated last year, continues both with celebration (Because why not? Celebration always feels good.) and the youthfully driven presentation of various comics curiosities, specialities and delicacies from home kitchen and beyond its borders. Because we just like to eat well. But we are especially happy about the contributions of our new young comics hopefuls, who spiced up this summer’s menu.
We also greased everything with two interviews: we interrogated Paul Gravett, a British comics historian and, overall, a mega expert on the global scene, on which he has been working and which he has been co-creating for more than 40 years, and we talked to the Slovenian comic author Gašper Krajnc.
The superb feast on the cover was cooked up by Lukas Weidinger, who wonders in the soapbox whether comic stories are also like goulash – the more times we reheat them, the better they get. But to make the meal perfect, we treat you in the Compendium with an invigorating dose of reflections and reviews.
