Shorelands is an illustrated text score booklet which includes 9 participatory text score compositions and map, created for a series of seaside shelters along the Isle of Bute coastline.

Each score encourages participants to read, listen, perform, and improvise at the shelters from Port Bannatyne to Craigmore.


The aim of the booklet is to encourage ecological listening, to raise awareness of the biodiversity and ecosystems we pass by every day. 

This work forms part of Laura’s PhD research which explores how creative and musical interventions can encourage new modes of listening, reorienting our auditory attention beyond anthropocentric perspectives.
