Modern Rituals is the debut photobook by photographer Hannah Guyer. Shot exclusively on analogue film over three months inside London’s renowned The Church of England studio, this book moves beyond the aesthetic of the final tattoo to capture the unseen choreography of the process.

From the concentration of the artist to the vulnerability of the client, Modern Rituals archives the fleeting exchanges of power, trust, and intimacy that define the contemporary underground scene. It is a resistance against the algorithmic erasure of tattoo culture - a physical consecration of the bodies and identities that defy mainstream definition.
