“The decennial Taoist ‘Da Jiao’ festival, or ‘On Lung’ as it’s also referred to by the locals, sees a five day celebration period of thanks to the Mother Goddess of fisherman and the sea, Tin Hau, with traditional ceremonies as well as entertainment and parades taking place during the rare village reunion. For its twenty-sixth incarnation, the Da Jiao festival took place on the 1st to the 5th October 2016. This is a selection of the photographic documentation.”
