A CIGAR CAUGHT IN THE LILIES by Emily Joyce

165 x 229mm, full colour printing, perfect bound, softcover, edition of 500, 2019

A Cigar Caught In The Lilies is a book of visual concrete poetry written and constructed by Emily Joyce, an abstract painter by trade. The poems were written with a sense of urgency, but also in secret, beginning in November 2016, when the shock of the election coincided with personal traumas. The resulting collection is Joyce’s diaristic response to the despairing climate of the world at this time in history. The end of time? The end of history? Joyce’s poems are observational, reflective, heartbreaking and humorous.
