"This poem was written in spurts through the latter end of 2025 into midsummer 2026 as entries in digital notebooks and scribbles in the margins of printed PDFs carried around cafes and on buses, or otherwise grafted from recollections of things overheard and half-remem-bered conversations among friends and confidantes. The first draft was read aloud at the launch for Lila Matsumoto's Talk a Blue Streak (Monitor Books, 2026) at Hundred Years Gallery (05/06/2026). This second draft, slightly extended, edited here and there and designed by Matthew Walkerdine with reference to some vocal habits has been printed in an edition of 40 copies (10/11/2026) at London Centre for Book Arts."
