Glittery transparent cassette, Black & white j-card, 2020

HYENA No.1 investigates obsession as a form of devotion. Inspired by Hilma Af Klint’s weekly seance group, The Five, the issue takes the form of an automatic writing ritual. 

Through a carefully curated mix by MOISTURE and a seance composed by Maria Hardin and Anna Jansson , the listener-writer-reader is guided through a leavening of self that attunes the psyche to the collective unconscious. 

Prior to the release of the cassette, the automatic writing ritual was performed in kitchens, on trains, in hospital rooms, as a group, and in isolation. A poem written during one of the sessions is included with the cassette.
