TINY FLAMES: VOICES FROM UKRAINE by Various Authors
150 x 200mm, 56 pages, Black & white printing, Saddle stitched, Softcover, 2024
‘Tiny Flames’ is an illustrated collection of poetry which brings together voices from students of The University of Edinburgh and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Featuring both original poetry in Ukrainian and a collaborative, translated version in English side-by-side, this collection brings an intimate perspective to the writing life of students in the Ukrainian capital during the russian invasion. Professor Lilia Miroshnychenko writes about the project: With the publication of the volume it makes Ukrainian voices heard in Scotland and beyond. For me personally, it has been a truly profound joy to see the project evolving, especially amidst the violence and destruction in the aftermath of the russian invasion. Celebrating life and creativity and by so doing resolutely asserting that there is poetry during war.
