FALTER by Heather O’Donnell
210x148mm, 46 pages, Digitally printed, Saddle stitched, 2018
“‘Falter’ accounts for a woman’s experience in this century of trauma, one that embraces ambiguity, intersubjectivity, and volatile memory. Through the search for omens to provide meaning and identity, the writer encounters butterflies as fieldwork on the damaged planet. In the form of microscope-slide prose poems, these confessions take note of a rising dissolution of self (oceanic feeling), refusing pathologizing accounts to re-frame this post-traumatic landscape as a potential site for radical acts.”
