THE PRUSSIAN DESERT by Kasper Andreasen
148 x 200mm, 60 pages, Black & white printing, Hand sewn, Die cut cover, Edition of 28, 2024
The Prussian Desert is about a region north-east of Berlin called the Uckermark, a place people often visit in the summer looking for a retreat. In the winter, however, it is a desolate landscape of porous buildings and wild vegetation. The grainy, drawing-like images printed here present quasi-picturesque scenes and eerie depictions of a harsh environment. A turquoise riso print entitled Prussian Spring accompanies the book.
