NITPICKING by Eilidh Akilade

145 x 207mm, 48 pages, Black & white printing, Saddle stitched, Risograph covers, Edition of 100, 2025

Nitpicking comes into being through a preoccupation with head lice that began in childhood and still holds, even as an adult. Through the writing, this anxiety is transformed into a methodology for looking outside the self and the sociality of head lice and their hosts, in particular the feminine subject. Searching cultural and personal lineages, the World Wide Web and works by Alice Rohrwacher, Annie Ernaux, Maud Sulter and Robert Burns, to name a few; Nitpicking brings together both personal and cultural narrative through an intimate form of looking.
