Featuring the contribution of twenty-nine artists, filmmakers and collectives working across a seventy year period, CINEMA DESPITE attempts to expand and trouble an underexposed history of artists' moving image practice in Scotland.

The accompanying publication to a three day event includes examples of contemporary work alongside rarely seen historic material drawn from archives.

Edited by Marcus Jack, the publication features new writing from Fiona Anderson, Seán Elder, Tomiwa Folorunso, Ruth Gilbert and Sarah Neely, as well as an introduction, descriptors for strands and films, and a full colour stills section.
