10 speculative texts through and around the notion of (U N) S U S T A I N A B L E P R A C T I C E S .

What do I know about sustainable practices? What does a practice need to be sustainable? What kind of practices am I talking about? Am I just borrowing the notion of sustainability from the environmental context to use it in an artistic context? Artistic and environmental practices may have productive conditions in common but, what do I know?

When I started to work on this book I knew that I did not want to do it alone. That is why I invited a few friends to think with me. Would you please think with me through these two texts, I asked. The invitation came in the form of an email with two texts attached. The first text tried to define a loose frame for the notion of sustainable practices. The second text performed through and away from that frame. The email included a draft of the book design and some seemingly unrelated images. After the first readings and conversations, the writing started.

With foreword by Astrid R. Cats and contributions by Samantha McCulloch, Bethany Crawford, Alejandro Cerón, Aurora Rodriguez, Dina A. Mohamed, Vincent Dams, Pitchaya Ngamcharoen, Marianna Maruyama and Carmen Rivera Parra.
