This book tells the story of The Gathering Table, across three acts. It introduces the characters, collaborators and their transformations, inviting you to get to know the ingredients, processes and conversations through the recipes and choreography of each event. We hope you will recreate the recipes included around your own tables, gather with friends, and question, like we have: where does a meal begin and where does it end? The Gathering Table was a year-long project by artist and chef Kawther Luay, with Deveron Projects. The project set out to explore local materials and ingredients around Huntly through foraging, cooking, crafting and eating. Over the course of a year, it made connections and fostered collaborations across people, species and cultures (human and more-than-human), to explore politics of food and hospitality.
