Saltwater Swans is a multimedia exploration of what it means to come of age. Through essays, poetry, photography and other visual art, we reflect on the first 30 years of life: childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. Through this body of work, we celebrate the joys, challenges and bittersweet beauty of becoming. This book is the final installment of the Saltwater Swans project, which began on the Isle of Arran before premiering in exhibition at Akela Space in Anchorage, Alaska in December 2024.
