Idle Idyll is a photobook comprised of a series of cyanotypes handprinted on cotton, that have been scanned and turned into risograph prints. The project began as a way for Leach to capture a sense of nostalgia by re-enacting memories of going swimming in rivers and lochs with groups of friends in former years. Returning to these spaces as an adult signified a shift and a feeling of loss, and the cyanotypes’s natural imperfections during the printing process began a further exploration into the limitations of memory.
