'FLATWORK presents a collection of newly commissioned two-dimensional work by artists predominantly known for their work in sculpture. Ten artists were invited to make new work for the specific context of the publication, and were asked to treat the flat page of the publication as if it were three-dimensional space.

FLATWORK was developed in response to the difficulty of accuarately documenting three-dimensional work and offers and alternatiev way of representing sculptural practice, allowing the participating artists to present and distribute actual work rather than a representation of it.

FLATWORK is an annual publication. Each edition focuses on the work of artists from different countries around Europe creating a network of artists that respond to the same context and limitations. This issue focuses on the work of Portugal and the UK.'
