176 x 240mm, 84 pages, black and white printing on coloured stock, perfect bound, 2021

The Royal College of Art Design & Philosophy Society was founded by Valeska Noemi Mangel in 2019 to give designers and creatives a space to debate, read, critically observe and develop a theoretical practice alongside their projects. We believe that design is more than form & function it is responsible for the shaping of our world and being and therefore requires a constant philosophical exchange with our environment and each other. The journal is our contribution to promote reflections and deeper thoughts arising while designing and creating.

In this issue we edited selected pieces around the topic of thinking and the question if design is as centred around a solution as it claims to be. It includes poetry, essayistic, theoretical writing as well as experimental writing from a workshop with Scrawl Writing Society analysing the theme from different angles.

With contributions by Valeska Noemi Mangel, Sebastian Banderath, Elena Mariani, Chleo Li, Scrawl Society (led by Hattie Morrison), Summer Chen, Magdalena Bravo Flores, Kate Morgan
