Author and photographer Johny Pitts has this concept he calls the 'B Side Aesthetic'.
A methodology you can apply to any art from. It's based on how singles were released in the days of vinyl. The A side of a record had to be commercially viable. Acceptable to as many people as possible. Made to entertain, but not to rock the boat.
So the B side was where the artist could be themselves. Go wherever they want, not worrying about whether the average listener could follow.

B-Side Soul is my first full length album. It chronicles the inside of my head over the past 2 years. Love, lust, loss and the weight of inherited trauma.
Otherness. The pressure to conform and the loneliness that comes when you don’t.

It’s my attempt to create some sympathetic place for myself & anyone that's felt stuck on the outside. This is B-Side music for B-Side people.
