"STRANNIK gives an insight into the everyday life of a 46-year-old homeless martial artist in Russia - a country where millions of people live on the streets. Four days full of conversations about his dreams, ideas and memories became this impressive documentary short comic.
In the fall of 2015, author Anna Rakhmanko and comic artist Mikkel Sommer first heard from Vyacheslav, better known in the ring as Ali Baba. A few weeks later they met in a cafe in Moscow. Vyacheslav told about his life - a life in which all belongings fit in a plastic bag and the frame of which are stairwells in suburban houses, noisy fast-food restaurants, cheap cinemas, warm subway and endless fights. The three spent some intense days together in Moscow and then traveled to a cordoned off military town in southern Russia. That's where Ali Baba had his next fight."
