PLASMA FREEZE: SALON AT THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH

A4, 40 pages, Risograph printed, saddle stitch, softcover, 2021.

“WHILE WORKING AS FOOT STYLIST TO THE TUDORS AMIDST THE SWEATING SICKNESS OF 1551, AN ERROR OF THE HEART SENDS PAULINE UNDERGROUND TO A SUBTERRANEAN HAIR SALON. PAULINE SOON FORGETS HER ABDICATION, BUT CAN SHE ESCAPE THE CONSEQUENCES?"

'Plasma Freeze: Salon at the Centre of the Earth' is the third comic by Josie Perry and Daphne Simons, published by PrintRoom Rotterdam in July 2021. Previous episodes are 'Plasma Spring' (2019) and 'Plasma Freeze: Making Friends' (2020), though the story is non-linear and can be read in any order. In this chapter we glimpse Pauline's time spent with a commune of poodle aesthetes in the 1500s, featuring a run-in with a grumpy Micky Angel (Michelangelo), and a party decorated from the future by art collective General Idea.
