ON LONGING by Yina Kim
A5, 24 pages, full colour printing, saddle stitched, signed and numbered edition of 100, 2023
'I wrote this story with my grandmother in mind, particularly thinking she always kept her head up despite losing two people she loved. She never seemed warm, someone I could grow close to, but I’ve always believed that the wall separating us was a given.
In this story, I tried to portray Grandpa and Grandma’s methods of grieving and coping with the loss of their sons for two reasons: For the sake of my uncle, who is slowly being forgotten, and for the sake of my lonely grandmother, unable to express her sorrow.'
