‘Juhee’s visits to characteristic and unique art book fairs across Europe (London, Paris, Berlin, Ghent) from May 2017 to November 2017, she covered and captured the energetic and vibrant events. In order to oversee the current art book market and publishing flow in Europe, she met various thought provoking publishers and visitors from different backgrounds and shared their book fair experiences. They discussed their thoughts regarding current publishing trends and any perceived difficulties. Juhee is a South Korean graphic designer currently working in London, as such, her perspective is grounded between Europe and Asia. She focussed the current book on markets in Europe and Asia and kept any information related to the fair including workshops, lectures, and general information as well as information from fair directors, publishers and any visitors’ interviews. This is the story behind the people who buy and sell books and who organise event space during a time in which books aren’t as popular and digitising is on the rise. Ultimately, this book is envisioned as a re-collection of these exchanges and a culmination in the shape of a celebration of the vibrant spirit palpable in these fairs.’
