“There is a preoccupation with perfection, and a constant battle to achieve it. A manmade utopia that can never be reached. We can find comfort in the imperfect, something that can be related to. A reminder that a flawed object can still be considered beautiful. Artist Tove Barnes explores this idea through her works, creating ceramic vases with an innate sense of womanhood, to link the human form to objects that appear to be far from it. Visual comparisons between the art and artist allow her to become an extension of the art, or for it to become an extension of herself. This publication documents her works, embodying the meaning behind them and presenting them in a way to suit them.”
